UF Health Jacksonville is a 695-bed private, not-for-profit medical, teaching and research facility serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
As an innovator in health care, UF Health Jacksonville provides state-of-the-art services. These include a regional pediatric trauma center, regional Level III neonatal intensive care unit, developmental evaluation program and a stabilization unit for children requiring inpatient trauma care. This hospital is also the first in Florida and one of the few in the nation to have a state-of-the-art proton beam cancer treatment facility on its campus.
UF Health Jacksonville has become one of the finest teaching hospitals in the Southeast, due largely to the affiliation with the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville. This affiliation has served to further develop the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville medical residency programs offered on the Jacksonville campus. In addition, as the area’s safety net hospital, it offers our trainees the chance to work with patients from varied socio-economic groups, thus exposing them not only to greater diversity, but also help them understand the impact social determinants of health have on healthcare delivery and outcomes.
