At the UF Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES), we provide expert, compassionate care for children, teens, and adults living with HIV, AIDS, and other infectious diseases. Our team works together to provide proven treatments in a welcoming and supportive setting. We care for the whole person, not just the illness. With decades of experience, we can support patients throughout their lives, from infancy through adulthood. UF CARES offers services at four convenient locations, making it easier for patients across Northeast Florida to get the care they need.
Comprehensive HIV and Infectious Disease Care
Our providers specialize in preventing, diagnosing, and treating HIV, AIDS, and other infectious diseases. We work with each patient to create a care plan that meets their individual needs. Our goals are to help patients stay healthy, keep HIV under control, prevent health problems, and improve quality of life.
Our care team includes doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, case managers, counselors, nutrition specialists, and patient educators. They work together to support each patient’s medical, emotional, and everyday health needs.
HIV Prevention Services (PrEP)
Preventing HIV is an important part of what we do. PrEP is a safe and highly effective medicine that greatly lowers the chance of getting HIV when taken as prescribed. The UF CARES PrEP Hotline helps people learn about PrEP and decide if it may be right for them.
Insurance and Financial Assistance
We believe everyone should have access to quality care. UF CARES accepts most major insurance plans and takes part in programs that may help lower the cost of medications. This includes the 340B Drug Pricing Program. We also participate in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, which provides medical care and support services for eligible people living with HIV. Our team can help patients understand insurance, find medication assistance, and connect with other resources.
