Teaching Profile

Teaching Philosophy

I am a clinician first and foremost, so there is probably no place I’d rather be than at the bedside caring for critically-ill newborn, interacting with their families, and teaching residents and fellows. In order to learn, one must be fully engaged, and bedside teaching is the best way to facilitate this engagement. Asking and answering questions regarding the clinical history and presentation, examining the patient, developing a differential diagnosis, and establishing a treatment plan, are all fundamental to teaching the art of medicine.
