About Jennifer L Rammel

Jennifer Rammel, M.D., M.P.H., is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. Dr. Rammel joined the department of pediatrics in 2019 to establish the first comprehensive pediatric rheumatology practice in Northeast Florida. She is experienced in all areas of general pediatric rheumatology, but has a special clinical interest in complex rheumatic diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitides and autoinflammatory disorders. She has a research interest in pediatric rheumatology in the critical care setting and management of rheumatology emergencies.

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Rammel completed her undergraduate work and earned her master’s degree and medical degree at Wright State University. She later completed a pediatrics residency at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville and UF Health Jacksonville and a pediatric rheumatology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Dr. Rammel is fascinated by the pathophysiology of autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. She enjoys taking on complex cases with diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and tailoring immunosuppressive regimens to help patients achieve the best quality of life possible. She works with families to help them understand their child’s disease process and, in the process, loves the long-term relationships that are developed with her patients. She also enjoys teaching and providing residents, fellows and medical students with invaluable clinical experience in pediatric rheumatology.

Dr. Rammel accepts referrals for new patients and is available for inpatient consults at the UF Health Pediatric Multispecialty Center – Prudential Drive.
