Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) Top Autism is a developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. The result of a neurological disorder that affects functioning of the brain, autism and its associated behaviors occur in approximately 15 of every 10,000 individuals. The purpose of CARD is to provide support and assistance with the goal of optimizing the potential of individuals with autism spectrum disorders, dual-sensory impairments and related disabilities. CARD services are provided free of charge to individuals with autism and related disabilities, to their families and to the professionals who work with them. Mission To educate and empower individuals and families throughout the lifespan by providing support, assistance and awareness within the community; with the goal of optimizing the potential of all individuals with autism and related disabilities.
