Northeastern Early Steps is a Children's Medical Services program provided by the department of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville.

The Northeastern Early Steps Program offers developmentally supportive early intervention services for infants and toddlers aged birth to 36 months who have developmental delay or may be at risk for developmental delay. Northeastern Early Steps serves families living in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau, Baker and Bradford Counties.

Early intervention through Northeastern Early Steps offers

  • Services at no cost to families
  • Service delivery in the environments where children typically live, learn and play
  • A family-centered approach

Through coordination of support services, Early Steps empowers parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge they need to enhance their children's development. Family members and other caregivers are shown how to build children’s skills and abilities using the routines and activities already going on in everyday life.

We would be happy to help answer questions you may have on the Early Steps program. Feel free to contact us to either send us your question or to schedule a screening at our office in Jacksonville.
