Facilities Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship UF Health Jacksonville UF Health Jacksonville is a 695-bed private, not-for-profit medical, teaching and research facility, serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. As an innovator in health care, UF Health Jacksonville provides state-of-the-art services. These include a regional Level I adult and pediatric trauma center, regional Level III neonatal intensive care unit, developmental evaluation program and the stabilization unit for children requiring inpatient psychiatric care. The center has become one of the finest teaching hospitals in the Southeast, due largely to the affiliation with the University of Florida Health Science Center - Jacksonville. This affiliation has served to further develop the other University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville medical residency and fellowship programs offered on the Jacksonville campus. UF Child Protection Clinic The UF Child Protection Clinic is a large dedicated pediatric facility with examination rooms, 8 case coordinators, medical staff, psychology, therapy and telemedicine. It covers a 6-county area with satellite clinics and easy access to the major children’s hospital in the area. All children with significant physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect and medical neglect are seen according to CPT standards – not the limited selection of patients usually seen elsewhere in the country. Children who need hospitalization are usually seen at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Rotations include experiences at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children's Health in addition to experiences with community partners. Wolfson Children's Hospital Wolfson Children's Hospital is a dedicated pediatric facility with 216 pediatric beds. There are 20 pediatric intensive care unit beds and 24 intermediate care beds. The hospital also houses an oncology unit, a bone marrow transplant unit, a neuro-diagnostic unit which has 24-hour EEG capacity, a state-of-the art cardiac catheterization laboratory and a comprehensive medical imaging department, which includes radiology, ultrasound, CT and MRI. The Wolfson Children's Hospital provides technologically advanced, family-centered inpatient care in a smoothly functioning, supportive facility. Its design and layout de-emphasize typical hospital-like features, which some children and parents may find threatening. There is a conference room and a consultation room on each floor. There are two private on-call rooms with private baths on each patient floor. Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville is an outpatient clinic providing pediatric sub-specialty services. Housed in a modern, 11-story building conveniently located in the downtown area of Jacksonville on the south bank of the St. Johns River, it is connected to Wolfson Children's Hospital by a pedestrian walkway over Interstate 95. Since opening in 1987, the clinic has provided outstanding health care to thousands of infants, children and adolescents from the local area, as well as from across the country and around the world. Today, Nemours' staff draws on the Nemours legacy of experience, knowledge and compassion to provide the highest level of care in a unique child-and family-centered environment.
